Cirque Du Freak: Tunnels of Blood

The saga continues when Darren goes Mr. Crepsley to his home town. There, a crazed vampaneze is killing innocents and our heroes come to the rescue! Also, like I said in 5/11/2011's Kuna Melba article, there's some mild romance. But, all that happens are a few kisses and a hug or two.
Parents should know that there isn't as much violence as there was in #2, but there is still some. The only gory part is when someone gets stabbed. They say that there were a few guts on the knife as it slid out.

   AND NOW...

So, with ***** being the best, these are QUALITY stars!

Overall Gruesomeness: ****

Just a little overview, Tunnels of Blood is a suspenceful book in the Cirque Du Freak saga. There are also ocational curse words, but they're all stuff like the D word, or H-E-Double Hockey Sticks. Not that bad.

Another thing, the story may be a little intence for sensitive kiddos, so don't let any 1st, 2nd, or 3rd graders read it, unless they've read Steven King or someone like that. I say it would be OK for 10 and up.

ALSO, there is a movie made off of the first 3 Cirque Du Freak books! Watch the trailer below!

Cirque Du Freak #2: The Vampire's Assitant Book Review

Darren and Crepsley are on the road to the Cirque Du Freak. On the way they bond and get to know each other. Once they get there, Darren and the snake boy, Evra Von meet a boy named Sam and an Eco-Warrior named R.V. (Reggie Veggie)
Considering how innocent it looks, this book is by far the scariest thing I've ever read. The main reason is because of one gory scene where someone gets their stomach ripped open (With details!) and their innards eaten.
Even with that said, it is still an amazing book. It's the second best I've read in the series. The best one I've read is the next book: Tunnels of Blood.
   So...

Overall FREAKiness: ****

This book was PHENOMENAL!!! The author NAILED the mixed emotions Darren has been going through. You fight tears when a character dies. You feel your heart sinks when the wolfman cage is empty. It was fabulous! It's OK for 10 year olds.
